It's December already
I love making plans and resolutions for new year. No I don't subscribe for gym in January and withdraw after 6 months realising I don't utilise my gym membership as much. But every year end I do look back and wished my year could have achieved more.
I do want to be present more. I want to start now instead of waiting or the counter to reset at 1st Jan.
I have a long declutter list in my phone notes app and that is one thing I really want to do before new year. I call it Declutter December! And so far I have some thoughts and I want to kick start them before new year:
Personal Growth:
- Take God's Word seriously
- To meditate, believe and apply God's Word in my daily life.
- Be more present and focus on what I'm doing/be less distracted
- I think I have a problem of being distracted and that cause me to be quite unproductive (also because of procrastination).
- Be more disciplined
- I have a problem of procrastinating. I feel that all along I'm striving and relying on my own strength to improve my discipline. I'm changing my strategy to rely on God more. I'm going to pray through this round! With practical actions together of course.
- I got so many good books on my Kindle (not to mention all the hardcopies one). I also think that reading helps a person to grow personally.
- Continue to learn and grow in tech
- So I can be relevant to the latest things. I think that's important as a teacher.
- Learn how to live a simple life
- Not sure if I should call it minimalism... but I aim to declutter and stop hoarding (do I?) and live a simpler life so I can focus on the more important things.
Relationships:
- Be there for my family
- Spend more time with my family and care about them. Take time to pray for them and care for the practical needs. I've been doing that but I think I need to communicate and care for them more.
- Listen more and don't assume. Stop wanting to give advices.
Finance:
- Do up my budget and be a good steward of the money entrusted to me.
Looking at how to generate passive income.(I need to look at how to do this but it's not a high priority)
Health & Fitness:
- Exercise twice a week
- I'm going to start small. I do want to lose weight but my goal to exercise is to be healthier overall.
- Eat more healthy, cook more and bring my own lunch to work
